You won’t want to miss this! As we continue to dive deeper into the Netflix techumentary series Liquid Science our August 8th meeting will feature Kathleen McCarthy – Director of Collections and Head Curator from the Museum of Science & Industry (MSI). She will bring several “wearables” featured in the new “Wired to Wear” exhibit at the museum! This is the first ever exhibit dedicated to the future of wearable technology infused with tools to make us stronger, more aware or our environment and healthier. We’ll get to experience wearables with haptic feedback, wearables that react to sound, and even a wearable that can adjust the ambient temperature of our micro-environment!
Kathleen McCarthy is the director of collections and head curator at the Museum of Science and Industry. McCarthy is responsible for the care of MSI’s 35,000 artifacts, as well as the research and development of content for exhibits. Recently, McCarthy helped to develop the world-premiere temporary exhibit Robot Revolution, spending several weeks in Japan visiting the top robotics companies.
