September 2015 Meeting – 3D Printing

Register for the September 10th meeting.

3D printing is more than a toy or passing fad. It already has applications in manufacturing, R&D and medicine. In this article, according to Howard Tullman, an Inc. columnist and CEO of 1871, technology is revamping an already-strong startup ecosystem in Chicago. Part of this is due to how 3D printing has made manufacturing less costly.

At our September meeting Bradley Trovillion, a Mobility and Devices Technical Architect at Microsoft will present on 3D printing and its ability to be a new disruptive force in Prototyping as well as ideation. He will cover Windows 10 and its native integration with 3D printing and Microsoft’s efforts in developing new standards for 3D printing formats. He will also discuss the use of Microsoft’s 3D imaging technology in the Kinect as well as Hololens and its ability to capture or create 3D images and transform them through 3D printing into physical objects.

In addition, please let us know if you need any accommodation to attend and enjoy this meeting by emailing Brian.Chorba@spr.com.
